Initially free in beta for Oculus Rift consumers with Touch controllers, Room is a great hangouts-type app everywhere anyone and some friends are in the same place and can watch immersive 360-degree videos at the same time. You can have other friends' avatars join and incorporate live video noise of friends inside the place too.
While this isn’t as loud as the AR news, this shows that a few interesting developments could on the horizon:

Platform-agnostic: The noticing that Facebook wants Room to be angry platform rather than merely tied to Oculus. Samsung Gear: There weren’t really any innovations around 360-degree video, so it appears Facebook is de-emphasizing optimized VR for Samsung Gear, which is powered by Oculus.
With its hold of Oculus, Facebook made it release that intended to be the best in VR. With its announcements that week, the release it also intends to do identical in AR.
